Background

In the summer of 1979, I joined the Danish steamroller club which at that time was situated in my home town Espergærde.
At the clubs 3. Steam rally in 1982, Erik Kammejer brought his 7¼" engine.
I was amazed of this engine a said to my self that some day I wanted to build my own engine.
My experience tells that a steam engine project will take long time and that the chance of dropping it at some time is big. So when I got the chance (read a garden) to carry out my dream I have decided to start with a engine with electrical traction.
I spend many hours on the internet to find info when I heard about Paul Middleton's home page.

I studied the Trojan engine found the design convincing. I had actualy decided to buy a Trojan when I saw the Hercules design, and I was pleased when Paul mentioned that the engine was working well without cranks. Soon after Paul came up with the ball race bearing model.
